An icon of Calabash burns" Becks" Restaurant,family owners Shawn and husband Cory Bellamy say they will rebuild.
The restaurant built in the 1940's has long been a Calabash icon serving for generations fresh local seafood, but early last week a fire believe to have started in the roof area of the restaurant caused it to be destroyed. The Calabash Fire Dept. along with two other departments "Sunset and Horry County fire departments worked tirelessly to put out the fire and save Becks but was unable to do so.The old remodeled building burnt so fast it could not be saved. Keith Hardee and the late Cheryl Hardee the father and mother of Shawn Hardee Bellamy has raised a family within the seafood restaurant business and with his help and his family Becks will return better than ever.
Kurt Hardee of Ella's restaurant brother of Shawn Hardee Bellamy says you can visit them until "Becks" can be rebuilt. Same family owned same quality seafood.They call it the "choice of two".
