Mayor Clemmons commented on the hard work the town services have been doing even in this extreme heat. Commissioner King commented that the 4th of July celabration was a huge sucess and would like to thank all who helped. Bids were opened to award contract to the construction company to do the site work at the Calabash Park. The Company of Brunswick Trucking and Contracting won the contract. Bids were received but not opened for debris management, they will be opened at a special called meeting at town hall on July 15th at 10am 2011. The Board of Commissioners appoved phase B with Norris and Tunstall Consulting Engineers for the River Road and River View storm water ditching project that was appoved by the town. A resolution was passed by the Commissioners to amend the distribution of proceeds from the operation of liquor stores in the Town of Calabash, which means all funds will go into the general fund. From that fund the Commissioners Voted in favor to give the Calabash Fire Dept. 15% and the Calabash EMS 15% of those funds after each years audit of the liquor store. The Commissioners also voted in favor of an Interlocal Agreement with Carolina Shores during and after an emergency/disaster event.
