Association President Michael Abushakra opened the meeting by welcoming everyone.
First on agenda was the annual Calabash Tree Lighting/Golf Car Parade. Ernie Ward will announce each golf car and business name. Merchants can rent a car from Midway Yamaha for $25. You will need to give your name /business and theme to Michael by Thursday. Drivers must have a driver’s license to drive a rented car. All cars need to be at Town hall by 5:15 on Friday evening.
Next Merchant meeting will be January 13, 2010, Beck’s Restaurant, 5:30 p.m.
Michael reported that the Town has expressed a concern about temporary signs being left out after hours. He asked that all merchants not to take advantage of this privilege and to take all signs in at the time of your business closing each day.
Michael also reported the car show/ Seafood Festival netted over $1,000. There are still t-shirts left and anyone can purchase these for a cost of $7 and $10 for long sleeve.
